| "Having myself received training as a guide at a World Heritage site in Kingston, Canada, I was recently privileged to participate in a tour that I would have been proud to have delivered. Join me to wander Chester's world famous city walls- the most complete circuit of Roman/medieval fortifications in Britain- and discover the delights of the unique covered shopping arcades, known as 'The Rows', and many other parts of our lovely city as well. Hear amazing stories you'll never find in a guidebook!
Depending upon your requirements, I can give your party a quick introductory tour of the city centre or conduct lengthy and detailed study walks upon specific themes, for example, the Roman, Saxon, Norse and medieval roots of Chester, those City Walls and Rows, the great religious foundations, Chester's vanished inns, how an ancient city copes with modern development, 'death, punishment & hauntings'- and many more. The choice is yours!
No fair weather guide I, for my walks take place all year round, are easily arranged, reasonably priced (see below), friendly, informal and very informative.
Tours can take place at your own pace and at times to suit you and your party and you may choose to take your lunch / cofee / beer breaks as you see fit - I'm always happy to recommend suitable hosteleries!
Depending upon prior committments, I'm happy to accept your booking at very short notice so don't hesitate to give me a ring when you're in town.
If you're from overseas, my walks are also a great opportunity to practise your English and get to know your new home.

If you have any particular interests, I’ll always do our very best to incorporate these into your tour. What does it cost?
For private parties of up to six people, we charge an hourly rate of £30.00, payable in advance or on the day, as you wish. Rates are variable for larger groups. Contact me to discuss your requirements further.
I'm pleased to be able to offer this service for visitors to the great city of Liverpool too.
In addition to my independent guided walks, I'm also proud to be an occasional guide for English in Chester. On the left we see one of their groups of young people- these guys are from Hong Kong- during one of our introductory wanderings around our beautiful city. At the top of the page we see a group from the South Tyrol in Italy during our visit to Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.
